Spirituals

This section will be totally committed to my love for African American Spirituals!

_____________________________________________________________

Over the past few years I have become deeply fond of this beautiful genre of music. I have performed them in various recitals and concerts and every time I sing a spiritual I feel that I am somehow a part of it and that it is speaking to me. It is undeniable that these expressive and moving songs are a telling part of my heritage, sung predominatly during the time of slavery, they gave the people struggling in that time a sense of togetherness, strength and hope.
